Palestinians invited to convene in Damascus
Farouk al-Shara, First Vice Syrian President, invited the Palestinian movements to convene in the Syrian capital for national talks, saying "the Palestinian brethren have always been welcome by the Syrian nation and government."
Shara was speaking in the annual meeting of political parties affiliated to the Baath party Wednesday.
"All Palestinian groups and movements inside or outside Palestine are welcome to meet in Damascus anytime they wish," Shara affirmed, urging for early staging of the national talks.
Shara described the Annapolis meeting as a volcano which died out, adding that the gathering proved to the country that the idea of coalition of moderates against the so-called radicals in the Middle East was senseless.
