Egyptian crisis, a western plot
A senior Iranian parliament member says that the Egyptian crisis was fueled by the west so that the people lose their trust in an Islamic government.
Spokesman of the parliamentary committee in national security and foreign policy Sayyed Hussein Naqavi said with the western governments were concerned after the emergence of the Islamic Awakening in the world of Islam and moved to deviate it so that the nations avoid it.
The lawmaker said the US authorities put their weight behind extremist groups in the world of Islam, including Salafi groups so that the Muslims get fearful. “The project could be traced in Syrian, Iraq, Pakistan and now Egypt,” he said.
The lawmaker slammed the Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi for not controlling Salafi groups, adding that the extremist group incited fear and anger among the opponents of Mursi and led to the current protests.
The lawmaker said Mursi by his severance of ties with Syria and failure to establish relations with revolutionary and independent states including Iran showed that he was more siding with the Salafi groups than moderate groups.
