Palestinian engineers to launch protest against PA

The syndicate of West Bank engineers is set to start a series of protests against the Palestinian Authority on Sunday, an official said.

Ahmad Adeli, who chairs the syndicate, told Ma'an Saturday that demonstrations would take place in all major West Bank cities at 10.30 a.m. to protest the PA's failure to implement agreements signed with the syndicate six months ago.

The PA approved a 25 percent salary bonus to 1,680 engineers working in the public sector and approved a regular salary increase for engineers, Adeli said.

None of the promised agreements have been implemented.
