Iran has a vital role in Syria efforts
A senior Iranian expert believes that the Geneva2 talk initiative came after the west found it impossible to carry out the ratifications of the earlier version of the talk.
Sayyed Amir Mousavi also told Qudsna that the UN special envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi visited Tehran as a reflection of the political developments.
The expert reckoned that the Geneva2 talks have difference conditions as there is a consensus for Iran's presence following a diplomatic shift between Iran and the US.
In the same regard, the expert said Saudi's opposition to Iran's presence in the Geneva2 talks stem from the fact that the former is concerned that the Islamic Republic is going to play an effective and positive role in the talks.
Also manager of the strategic studies and international relations center, the expert believed that the Syrian envoy excluded Saudi in his regional tour so as to help maintain Iran's vital role in the issue.
The expert said the world powers have realized that in absence of Iran no headway would be made in the Syrian issue.
The expert underlined Iran's resolve to help the Syrian people to fulfill their aspirations "while the powerful opposition groups largely formed by Saudi and Turkey consider no role for the Syrian people."
