Muslims must heed Aqsa mosque

A prominent pro-Palestinian activist in the Islamic Republic has sounded alarm about a dangerous Zionist plan to divide the al-Aqsa mosque, saying that the Islamic ummah must protect the sacred site with unity.

Chief of secretariat of Conference in Support of the Palestinian People’s Intifada, Hussein Sheikh-ol-Islam told Qudsna that the Zionist plan was a large conspiracy against the Islamic Ummah.

The activist then invoked verses from the Holy Koran that attached great significance to the sanctity.

The activist noted that the Zionists are going to abuse the internal differences in the Muslim world to fulfill their malicious goals.

The activist said the Organization of Islamic Cooperation must meet its responsibility in protecting the sanctity.

The Israeli parliament has discussed a bill to divide the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.

The bill was drafted by Israeli Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan, who demanded during a meeting past Monday that time slots and specific locations be allocated to Jews.

Arab members of Knesset voiced opposition over the bill, considering it an attempt to desecrate the holy mosque.
