Imam taught nations to live free

A Palestinian lawmaker says the struggle of the late Imam Khomeini was reminiscent of the struggle of Moses against the pharaoh of his time.

Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Mohammad Shahab told Qudsna that the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran left a positive impact on all the regional countries, especially Palestine.

The Palestinian authority said the Islamic Republic from the very beginning of establishment in 1979 put the Palestinian issue on its agenda unlike the massive problems it was facing.

He said the Islamic Revolution's experience was a rare record for Muslim nations as well as those nations which are suffering the world powers' conspiracies.

The lawmaker said the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini taught the Palestinian nation how to stand against the world powers even with bare hands. "He taught the nation to leave fear behind and struggle against the Zionist occupiers," Shahab added.

The lawmaker said Muslim Alims must be the flag-bearer of the struggle against the world powers.
