Obama seeks to mend ties with US Jews

Iranian lawmaker Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh says the recent assertions by the US President Barack Obama on his commitment to the security of Israel have come in a bid to mend his ties with the US Jews.

“Following the recent schism between Obama and Netanyahu, the US president seeks to mend his ties with Tel Aviv,” he told the Qods News Agency (Qodsna).

The lawmaker said Obama especially seeks to absorb the AIPAC Jewish lobby’s support for Democrats in the 2016 presidential elections.

“Obama seeks to reassure the Zionists that they would not be harmed by a potential nuclear deal with Iran,” he added.

Asked about the role of the Zionist regime in the formation and promotion of Takfiri-terror groups in the region, the lawmaker said the occupying regime plays a strategic role in this regard.

“The Zionist regime acts in a way to push the developments towards unrest and schism in the Muslim community and the Middle East countries,” he said.

The Zionist regime seeks to divert the public opinion from the Palestinian issue, Falahatpusheh said, adding the Israeli intelligence was in collusion with the regional spy agencies in order to advance the conspiracy.
