Palestinian issue, a longstanding concern for Imam

An Iranian expert in political affairs says the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini was concerned about the Palestinian issue even before the victory fo the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

Sayyed Hadi Sayyed Afqahi was speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) few days ahead of the 26^th anniversary of the departure of the eminent personality.

The expert noted that the late Imam allowed his followers to spend their religious donations in promoting the Palestinian issue and supporting the wrong nation when he was on exile before the revolution.

The expert then pointed to procrastination of certain Arab leaders against the Palestinian issue that led to the signing of Camp David and Wadi Araba deals, adding certain Arab authorities sought to wipe out the Palestinian issue however Imam Khomeini helped keep the issue in the international scene.

Sayyed Afqahi also touched on the current scourge of the ISIL terror group and said the seditious current has been created partly to affect the Palestinian issue and distract the Public mind from the Palestinian developments.
