Resistance movements inspired by Imam Khomeini

Iranian political analyst, Hassan Hanizadeh says the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini put the spotlight again on the Palestinian issue at time when it was nearly sidelined in the international scene.

The analyst told Qodsna that the Imam pursued the issue so decisively that it turned into part of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy agenda.

Hanizadeh added that Israel grew concerned about the Iranian nation's stance after the emergence of anti-Israeli resistance groups following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Asked about practical measure for advancing the Palestinian cause in the international bodies the analyst said the Palestinian group may take a leap forward if they follow the teachings of the late Imam on unity and serious struggle against the Zionist regime.
