Imam Khomeini presented a model for liberating Palestine

A senior Iranian pro-Palestinian activist says the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini presented a comprehensive model for the liberation of Palestine, comprised of a fine culture, public presence and qualified leadership.

Hossein Sheikholeslam was speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) on the eve of the 26th demise anniversary of the great personality.

The senior activist said the late Imam imbued the Palestinian issue with an Islamic culture and at the same time, encouraged people to take to the streets, paving the way for the emergence of Intifada.

Sheikholeslam added however that the Palestinian movement needs a qualified leadership in order to fulfill its ideals.

The former lawmaker said Imam Khomeini by designating the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as day of Qods marches taught he Muslim community that the best option to liberate Palestine was a public uprising.
