Boycott, good tool to push back Israel
American professor Lawrence Davidson says the "international community" is actually ‘the world's states’ and would not directly intervene on behalf of the Palestinians.
He was answering a question by the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) on why the world has remained undecided over the Gaza ruins, left from the Israeli genocidal war on the besieged enclave in 2014.
“This is because such intervention would probably necessitate war with Israel for those involved,” Davidson said, adding Israel “has sufficiently powerful allies (specifically the U.S.)”.
The US author said however that the actions of the boycott (BDS) would be an effective tool to push back Israel from its aggressive policies.
BDS “has a good record of directing public attention to Israeli crimes,” he wrote in an email interview.
“This effort must be kept up and expanded until Israel's allies are brought to abandon the Zionist state, its economic relations are undermined, and as a result, it is led to reconsider its policies and treatment of the Palestinians,” he said.
