Saudi diverted OIC from Quds mission

Iranian expert in Middle east affairs, Hassan Hanizadeh says the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was originally founded to support and defend the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’) however Saudi diverted it from its mission and turned it into a lame duck body.

“Saudi Arabia turned the body into an Israeli friendly body,” he told the Qods News Agency (Qodsna), adding should Muslim states fail to take a serious measure concerning the occupied city, Israelis would continue their judazation policies.

 Hanizadeh said while the Muslim community is engaged with regional crises, Israel is advancing its policies in the occupied city.

Hanizadeh said the secretariat of the Muslim organization is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the Saudi government prevents it from staging an active stance concerning the situation in the occupied city.

“Muslims must form a joint army to protect the sacred sites and prevent the Jews residing in the occupied areas from attacking the sites,” he said.
