1 Egyptian prof: "Those who deny Imam Khomeini’s influence on recent ME uprisings may also deny sunlight

prominent Egyptian researcher described Imam Khomeini as an exceptional personality and a topmost figure in the contemporary Islamic history, adding that those who deny Imam Khomeini’s influence on recent ME uprisings may also deny sunlight in midday time.

Rasem Nafis, a professor with the al-Mansoura University in Egypt, told Qudsna Saturday, a few days before the 22nd anniversary of Imam’s sad departure that he had found Imam Khomeini as exceptional from the outset of his researches.

A professor in physiology, Nafis said the political and diplomatic role of Imam Khomeini went beyond the Iranian boundaries to influence the political equations in the international scene.

“The world of Islam has moved from a former retarded status and indeed Imam Khomeini has played a key role in the transformation,” he added.

Asked about Imam Khomeini’s views concerning the Palestinian issue, Nafis said Imam Khomeini helped restore the issue to its current, deserved status after some tried to reconcile it to history.

“The Zionists and their supporters were dealt with the blow. The Islamic Ummah is speedily driving forward towards its sublime objectives, set up by Imam Khomeini, namely the liberation of Palestine and freedom from the world hegemony,” he said.
