Israel to construct a bridge adjacent to al Aqsa Mosque

The Al Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage issued a statement on Thursday evening revealing that the Israeli Authorities started preparations for the construction of a bridge at the Mughrabi Gate adjacent to the Al Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds ('Jerusalem').

The preparations started after an Israeli court approved the construction of the bridge that would link between the Al Buraq ('Western Wall') and the Al Mughrabi Gate.

The bridge would also make it easy for the Israeli army and settlers to attack the Al Aqsa mosque, the foundation reported.

It added that some of its members toured the area and saw construction workers removing rubble resulting from excavations conducted near the Mughrabi Gate.

The foundation stated that the digging will have direct impacts on the foundations of the mosque.
