On the 17th anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza
Hamas: The resistance forced the occupation to leave Gaza

The Hamas Movement has described Israeli occupation’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005 as a “victory that will remain immortalized in the Palestinian people’s memory.”
“The ousting of the occupation from Gaza happened thanks to the adherence of the resistance spearheaded by al-Qassam Brigades to its national constants and its strategic options in its struggle against the enemy,” Hamas said in a statement on Monday on the 17th anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza.
The Movement stressed that the Palestinian people’s struggle against the occupation would continue until the liberation of their land and holy sites.
“The withdrawal was achieved by the valiant resistance’s strikes that made the occupation pay dearly for its aggression and forced it to dismantle its settlements and take flight,” it underlined.
The Movement expressed its appreciation to the countries, governments and organizations for the humanitarian efforts they continue to make in Gaza and their role in alleviating the impacts of the Israeli siege.
