Hamas calls for strenuous efforts to implement Palestinian unity deal

Member of Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouq has called for exerting more efforts to implement the reconciliation agreement signed in Algeria.
In a press statement Friday, Abu Marzouq pointed out that the newly-agreed unity deal is brokered by Algeria, noting that the country has long been supporting the Palestinian cause and opposing normalisation with the Israeli occupation.
In order for such an endeavour to succeed in healing the intra-Palestinian rift, Abu Marzouq called for not caving to US and Israeli pressures in this regard.
“The internal conditions are very convenient for this agreement to work out,” Abu Marzouq concluded, pointing to the sense of unity expressed by the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem (Al-Quds) in the face of the Israeli occupation.
