Iranians mark Intl. Quds Day

The people of Iran attended nationwide demonstrations on Friday morning to mark the annual International Quds Day in support of Palestine and in condemnation of the Zionist regime’s genocidal crimes against Gaza.
Iranian people from all walks of life have poured to the streets to stage pro-Palestinian marches in over 2,000 locations across the country.
The demonstration commemorating the International Quds Day in Tehran kicked off at 10 am as people will converge on the University of Tehran from ten different routes.
The keynote speaker in Tehran is Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami.
In Tehran, a funeral procession is held for the seven IRGC forces martyred in an airstrike that the Zionist regime launched on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on Monday.
The Quds Day rallies this year are of special importance as the Zionist regime’s genocidal war against the people of Palestine in the invaded Gaza Strip is ongoing after six months.
International Quds Day is considered the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who is revered as a spiritual leader by Muslims worldwide.
In 1979, shortly after leading an Islamic revolution that toppled the US-backed Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan Quds Day.
A funeral was held on the sidelines of the rallies in the capital Tehran for the seven IRGC military advisors who were martyred on Monday in a Zionist Israeli regime's airstrike on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
