Zionist Regime, PA fail to reach deal

On Friday afternoon, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told Arab foreign ministers in Cairo that efforts to draft a joint document with the Zionist regime ahead of the Annapolis confab have failed.

 

"Israel wanted to achieve certain gains, and we rejected these."

Zionist regime had refused to acknowledge the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, instead insisting in an ongoing Israeli military occupation of Palestinian land and the continuation of Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.

 

The stubbornness of Zionists' officials over certain key issues, particularly the status of Beit Ul Mogaddas and the return of Palestinian refugees, led Syria to decide on Friday to boycott the confab.
