Barak Fires Labor HQ Head

War Minister and Labor party chairman Ehud Barak's decision to fire Eldad Yaniv, the head of the party's headquarters has caused some dissention in the ranks.

Labor party secretary-general Eitan Cabel called the decision "cowardly" and said he was "ashamed of it." Cabel said Barak's behavior was paranoid and added that he believed the war Minister was trying to push him out of the party as well.

"I have defended Barak's actions up to a point, but enough is enough….I'm not going to let him strip the secretary-general's position of its responsibilities," he said.
