Hamas warns against any bid on Haneyya

The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas Movement, has warned Zionist regime of carrying out its threat to assassinate Ismail Haneyya, the premier of the PA government in Gaza and the prominent Hamas leader.

Abu Obaida, the Qassam spokesman, said on Monday that in the event the IOA assassinated Haneyya then "earthshaking tremors would sweep the entire region" and Zionist regime would bear the consequences.

In a statement to the press, a copy of which received by Qodsna he said that his armed wing would "employ all means not used before" in retaliating to Zionist regime's crime in the event it materialized with Washington's green light.

He affirmed that his armed wing would do all it could to avert the possibility, adding that the Hamas Movement was adopting strict protection measures.

The spokesman did not rule out Zionist regime's assassination of Haneyya, saying that Haneyya was and still is a target for occupation.

Zionist regime's press reports indicated that the Israeli security cabinet had endorsed the assassination of Haneyya with American blessing.

The Israeli occupation forces had assassinated several Hamas political leaders over the past few years topped by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, founder of the Movement, and his predecessor Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Rantisi.
