Palestinians call Egypt to allow pilgrims

Thousands of Palestinians staged a rally at the Gaza-Egypt border on Monday to demand the Hajj pilgrims return to their residences.

 

Gaza-based Palestinian border police formed a human cordon between the protesters and the flimsy gate separating Gaza from Egypt to prevent the border from being stormed.

 

The Hajj pilgrims, who are returning from the Saudi Arabia, rejected Egypt's demands that they enter Gaza through the Israeli-controlled border crossing.

 

They wanted to return through Rafah, a direct crossing between Gaza and Egypt where Zionist regime has no control and from where they left earlier this month.
