Fatah: Bush's ME Visit Vain

A senior Fatah member said on Thursday that the US President George W. Bush's tour of Middle East has no benefit for Palestinians regarding Washington's full backing the Zionist Regime.

Ahmed Ghonaim told Alalam, "The US supports Israel and turns a blind eye to Israel's evasion of the peace process."

He said all proofs show that due to his full support for the regime of Israel, the US President George W. Bush can not fulfill all the objectives he failed to address in eight years of his rule in order to make peace between Palestinians and Israelis.

He added that furthermore, Bush can not force the Zionist regime to give concessions as a guarantee to success of the compromise talks, especially stopping enhancement of the Jewish settlements.

"Consequently, it can be said that present periodic visit of Bush will not earn any achievement for Palestine issue alike before."

Commenting on nature of the objective for establishment of a Palestinian state in the future, Ghonaim said, "Palestinians are committed to the choice of full independence, end to Israel's occupation of the 1967 occupied lands and establishment of a country with holy Quds being part of it."

Asked about claims of Zionists' Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and of Bush regarding the rockets launched from Palestinian territories, Ghonaim said such claims are used to downplay major issues and magnify minor issues.

He added that the ones subjected to pain, suffering and torture are Palestinians.

"Dozens of Palestinians are daily martyred or injured, their properties are plundered and their rights are violated," he added.
