Hezbollah warns US against Iran attack
Secretary General of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement, Hezbollah warned against any US attack on Iran, saying such a mistake would destroy US interests in the Middle East.
"Who said that a war on Iran will achieve America's expectations?" Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah asked.
He suggested that if the US attacked Iran, there would be such a backlash that American interests in the region would be destroyed.
Nasrallah added that such a move would be the biggest mistake in the American history, AP reported.
"If America launches a war against Iran, it will be the biggest folly committed by America in its history," said Hezbollah leader in a speech to supporters in downtown Beirut on Tuesday.
Nasrallah's comments came as US President George W. Bush is trying to drum up Arab opposition against Iran.
Nasrallah also warned against a worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, saying Bush's visit to Israel had encouraged the Zionists to increase pressure on Palestinians.
