US measures improved Assad's standing

A senior Iranian parliamentarian says the US policy in Syria has otherwise turned the Syrian President Bashar Assad into a powerful leader in the Arab world.
The parliament's website quoted deputy chief of security and foreign policy committee, Mansour Haqiqat as saying that the US has shown to be lacking adequate intelligence in their strategic affairs in the Middle East.
He said that the US measures have proved counterproductive for the country by making the Syrian government and nation more zealous to put an end to the conflict.
The parliamentarian said the US pressures have also helped the Syrian people to turn into a resilient nation while such plight Arab figures as the Jordanian King Abdullah II and the Saudi Arabian King Abdullah are facing harsh criticism in the Arab world.
