Egypt suffers US, Israel intervention
An Iranian expert in regional affairs blames the current instability in Egypt on the Egyptian President’s Muhammad Mursi’s inability to run the country coupled with the US and Israeli interventions.
Muhammad Sadeq Koushki told Qudsna that Mursi came to power with a shaky vote while half of people opted to keep away from the ballot boxes. “Actually, 30 to 35 percent of those eligible to vote took part,” he noted.
The university professor said the president has set a weak record during his one year in power and failed to produce a favorable management in social, economic or foreign policy affairs.
The expert rejected that the notion that the Egyptian president was swayed by his partisan inclinations and therefore might not been to blame, adding that Mursi could not avoid the adverse effects of his decisions.
Asked how he would see the future of Egypt, the expert said stability would not be restored in Egypt in any near future.
