Egyptian revolution to go deeper

An Iranian expert in Middle East affairs says the ongoing developments in Egypt will make the country's people more aware about their enemies, adding that the popular Egyptian revolution will become deeper amid the developments.

Muhammad Sadegh al-Hosseini made the remarks in an interview with the Quds News Agency (QUDSNA).

"The recent developments made the people more conscious about their true enemies, namely the Zionist regime and the imperialist US," the expert said.

As for the ouster of Muhammad Mursi, the expert said Mursi was overthrown after he distanced from people and followed wrong policies of the Muslim Brotherhood. The expert said Mursi was opportunist in putting relations with the west ahead of interaction with his own people.

The expert also criticized Mursi for not pushing for a purge in the Mubarak-era bodies.

Manager of the al-Mayadin channel in Tehran then touched on a word of advice made by the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei following the victory of the Egyptian revolution.

"The leader urged them to safeguard the revolution, not to trust the US or Israel and never fear their power," he said, adding that the developments must alarm the Egyptian people about the likely US projects to defeat their original uprising.

The expert said the situation in Egypt was very critical, urging the Egyptian people to stand against all such conspiracies.
