Peres acknowledges widening corruption in Israel

Israeli president Shimon Peres has admitted to widening corruption in Israel.

He has told a conference in Herzliya Thursday that the regime's judicial system should uproot corruption and make no compromise over the issue.

Peres however tried to defend the records of Israeli mayors despite numerous investigations and indictments of mayors. "An impression has been created that all mayors are people who act in an unacceptable way. This is not true. The large majority of mayors are extraordinary people who serve the public."

Menwhile, Zionist daily Haaretz has revealed in an article in mid-June that over 60 Israeli mayors have already been indicted over corruption. The daily also put curtain aside from huge corruption among the regime's authority.
