EU embargo, a weak decision
An Iranian expert in regional affairs says the recent EU decision to slap embargo on Israeli-made goods that are produced in the occupied West Bank is actually a double conduct aimed to underestimate the regime’s atrocities.
The EU has decided to ban those goods that are built by the Jewish settlements situated in the West Bank and the east al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’).
Hossein Rouyvaran though the decision was good however the European Union apparently seeks to blame several individuals for the occupation of the area. “The true occupiers are the regime’s authorities,” he said, asking why the regime avoids bothering them. “This is a double conduct,” he said.
Continued occupation of the West Bank runs counter to the UN resolution 242 and 338, the expert said, adding that by the embargo the EU has adopted the weakest possible position towards the violation.
“The EU will never press the Zionist regime so that it abandons its aggressive policies,” Rouyvaran added.
