Barak supports Egyptian DM

Former Israeli premier Ehud Barak has appealed for the world to support Egyptian Defense Minister General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in his fight against Islamist groups.  

Barak told CNN that Israel support may cause some problems for al-Sissi, adding that every country must support him and other liberal leaders of Egypt, including Muhammad ElBaradei.

Barak claimed Israel was not involved in the Egyptian developments. He said former president Muhammad Mursi was seeking to turn Egypt into an extremist Muslim country.

Asked about the idea that Saudi Arabia and Israel are the happiest countries following the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the former premier said Israel must not put itself at the forefront of the internal developments of the Arab countries.
