Israel seeks to disintegrate regional states

A senior Iranian diplomat believes that there is no guarantee in a new US-engineered peace plan for establishment of a viable, Palestinian state.

Director of Middle East and North Africa department in the Iranian foreign ministry Mojtaba Ferdowsipour made the remarks in an interview with the Quds News Agency (QUDSNA).

The diplomat said the Palestinian nation losing any hope in such peace plans has pinned hope in a third intifada to restore its rights.

The diplomat suggested that the US plan has come as part of measures to improve security of the regime. "The Zionist regime sustained heavy losses due to the regional developments," he said, adding that the country has forced the Arab states to incorporate the land swap idea in their peace plans so that the regime could set up a security cordon around itself.

The diplomat said the peace talk would go an unfair track as Israel seeks to be declared a 'Jewish state' while it sets preconditions for any Palestinian state and at the same time wants the Gaza Strip to be run by Egypt.

The IRI diplomat predicted that the six major Palestinian demands concerning the Quds as capital, return of refugees, Palestinian borders, Palestinian security and water distribution would not be addressed by the Zionist side.

The foreign ministry official denounced the trend of news talks as betrayal, adding Israel would not keep commitment to any treaty or agreements if any concluded.

The diplomat also warned that the Zionist regime seeks to disintegrate the Middle Eastern and North African countries through precooking civil war and sectarian strife.
