Anti-Israeli sentiments run high in Egypt
Former Iranian ambassador to Jordan Mohammad Irani believes that all the parties to the ongoing conflict in Egypt commonly hold anti-Israeli and anti-US sentiments.
The diplomat told Qudsna that the Egyptian people commonly oppose any foreign intervention in their country. "They naturally do not tolerate the US intervention or the unconstructive role of Israel irrespective of their differences in the political scene," he said.
The ambassador said the Egyptian parties are angry at seeing the US authorities making so many visits to their country in the past few days and consider the visits as an effort to secure the US interests.
The diplomat said the Egyptians would remain sensitive towards foreign intervention despite their internal schism.
