The pro-Palestinian activist said the revolution ushered in two major developments. "For one thing, the revolutionary leader Imam Khomeini deemed it a religious duty for the Islamic umma to support the Palestinian cause," the activist said.
Sharif added a second significant development was the Imam's designation of the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as international day of Quds, issuing a worldwide call for anti-Israeli and pro-oppressed demonstrations.
The senior activist said the Zionist regime has conceded to holding talks as it knows it is unable to stand against the mainstream Palestinian resistance. The activist added however that the freedom of a group of Palestinian captives in lieu for more Jewish settlements amounted to an insult to and humiliation of the Palestinian nation.
The activist said the world is no longer in dark about the real aims of the Zionist regime and its allies in promoting the so-called 'peace' talks.
