PA-Israel talks are doomed

An Iranian diplomat says by the new round of talks between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, the US seeks to turn the current Palestinian issue into an economic challenge from the current military one.

Chairman of the board on Palestine in the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mohamad Qahremani also told Qudsna that the sort of claims the two parties have brought to the table of negotiations would push the talks to failure.

"The Zionist regime more focuses on security matters while the Palestinian side seeks to have the boundaries of Palestine finally demarked," Qahremani added.

The senior diplomat said Washington has sought to remove the Israeli security concerns in case any independent Palestinian state is formed.

The expert noted that the Zionist regime is not willing to give any concessions to the Palestinian side, suggesting that the new round of talks would shortly end up in failure.

The diplomat said no viable promise has ever been made by the US or Israel to the PA negotiators, adding that the US seeks to woo the Palestinian side by economic promises to relinquish the Palestinian rights. "They seek to undermine Palestinian resistance either," he said.
