West seeks to sideline Palestinian issue

An Iranian political expert suggests that the US and Israel seek to sideline the Palestinian issue by fomenting crises in the region.

Gholam Abbas Kiyani told Qudsna that the current 'peace' talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority run counter to the regime's settlement expansion policies, adding that the regime actually seeks to sideline the Palestinian issue through the talks.

The expert said Israel sustained a dear price during the Palestinian intifada (uprising). "The blow recurred during the waves of Islamic awakening in the region; the regime seeks an escape," he said, adding that Israel tries to find an escape through fomenting crises in Syria, Egypt and other places in the region.

Member of Iran-based Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN) said the world arrogance has realized that a prospective unity among Muslims would put the last nail in the coffin of Israel and then the arrogance's itself and for the same reason, it seeks to dent the unity by any means.

The expert slammed Arab rulers for giving hand to the US and Israel in the crises, adding that the world arrogance has surely set a definite date of use for the Arab regimes. "They too would be consigned to history," Kiyani said.
