Syria and Iran, true backers of resistance

A local commander of al-Aqsa brigades says Iran and Syria are two major supporters of the Palestinian resistance that have come under the western pressures.

Zakaria al-Zobeidi told Qudsna that Syria and Iran serve as true shields for the Palestinian resistance.

The Palestinian personality regretted that certain Palestinian groups have distanced themselves from the Syrian government and urged them to return to Syria. "Syria is an honest backer of Palestinian nation in the face of Zionists," he said.

"It is unbecoming to ignore the Syrian government's past supports and leave Syria alone amid a storm of western pressures," he said.

Al-Zobeidi added however that ordinary Palestinians support the Syrian government away from partisan affiliations or media hue and cry.

He said the only guilt of Syria was to refuse to sit talk with the Zionist regime and to reject any agreement that harms the interests of Palestinian and other regional nations.
