Rafah issue must not add to Gaza woes

An Egyptian expert in military and strategic affairs says the US and Zionist regime appear to be seeking to make for their failures in Syria by committing newer crimes against Palestinian people, especially in Gaza.

Brigadier Talat Moslim told Qudsna that Israel has used the international silence and media inattention to step up pressures on the Gaza residents.

The expert touched on the Israel ban on imports of fuel into Gaza and said the ban has put a strain on transport in Gaza and disrupted work at many hospitals there.

Moslim also warned that the frequent closure of the Rafah crossing by the Egyptian army has increased economic pressures on the people, adding that Rafah security was must not be used as an excuse to step up the siege of Gaza.

In another regard, the expert said the Palestinian resistance groups enjoy a high level of preparedness to counter against any Israeli aggression. Moslim believed that Israel was growingly weak in military, social and economic fields unlike its claims.

As for the US withdrawal of military threats against Syria, the expert pointed to threats to Israeli security as a major motivation for the US to retract its threats.
