World must help Palestinian students

Former caretaker of Palestinian Higher Education Ministry in Gaza Abdallah Abd al-Mon’im has appealed to the world community to come to rescue of Palestinian students in Gaza.
The Palestinian figure told Qudsna that continued Israeli siege on Gaza has deteriorated the conditions at Palestinian schools and academic centers to the extent that many Palestinian children have left schools for labor in a bid to help their families to make the two ends meet.
The Palestinian personality said teachers and students in Gaza are enduring harsh conditions, adding that the educational conditions in Gaza were disastrous.
Abd al-Mon’im says the oppressive Israeli blockade has gone beyond threatening the normal living conditions to become a threat for the lives of the Gaza residents.
The personality said many in Gaza cannot afford to buy stationery and other school items while many families in the besieged enclave cannot afford to send their children to schools.
The former education authority added that many educated individuals in Gaza find no job opportunities.
