Bodies founded to manage world trends
An Iranian expert in regional affairs believes that there are ulterior motives behind an award recently given to a Palestinian singer.
The Palestinian singer Reem Banna will be awarded the 2013 Ibn Rushd prize for Freedom of Thought. The organization has registered in Germany and honors personalities and organizations in support of freedom of thought and democracy in the Arab world.
Mehdi Azizi believed that the west has had a master plan in place since long ago to influence the social, political and cultural trends in the target communities and that the plan is going to be carried out by such institutes as the Ibn Rushd institute.
"They maintained any developments in the Third World countries must be in their favor," the expert said, adding that the organizations in charge of the goal tend to make waves of propaganda through such labels as 'peace award,' 'freedom award,' 'human rights,' or various film festivals award.
Also managing director of the Islamic Media news website, the expert enquired why the Oscar Award international section mostly chooses those individuals from third world countries who are at odds with their governments and maintain westernized lifestyle and thoughts.
The expert believed that the bodies in charge of the master plan are charged with identifying favorable individuals, cultural alienation, management of regional and political crises, and replacing the sitting governments with those individuals.
"They seek present an intellectual reading of Islam as a model in contravention of the pure Islam that is exercised by the Islamic Republic of Iran," the expert said.
The expert noted the western-devised bodies have step up their efforts since 2001 "as the west felt a need in fabricating a unfavorable image out of Islam."
The expert concluded that the Ibn Rushd award was a politicized award with ulterior motives behind.
