Geneva2 talk unlikely to bear favorable result

An Iranian expert in political affairs says chances for the staging of a prospective Geneva2 talk on Syria are slim taking into account the widening differences among the terrorist groups involving in the Syrian crises as well as those of other anti-Syrian players.

Hassan Hanizadeh told Qudsna that the terrorist groups are by no means ready to sit the talk, adding that the Saudi Arabia procrastination policy have made the conference less likely to be held.

“Even if the talk is held, it is unlikely to have a mutually-agreed outcome,” the expert noted.

The expert reckoned that at present the Syrian army’s victories in the battlefield have changed the equation in favor of the Syrian government, helping the government of President Bashar Assad to raise the ceiling of its claims in any talk on Syria.

The expert said however that the prospective talk is very unlikely to have a successful result and would end up in failure like it previous version, especially in light of the demand of Qatar, Saudi and Turkey that the talks pave the way for the formation of a transitional government.
