Withdrawal of terrorists, solution to Syria

A senior Iranian lawmaker believes that the Syrian crisis would be resolved only if terrorists withdraw from the country, the opposition groups are disarmed and constitutional elections are held in the country.

Member of the national security and foreign policy commission in the Iranian parliament, Hassan Asafari said a prospective Geneva2 talk on Syria would fail to resolve the crisis as initiatives tabled by the anti-Syrian groups fail to cater to the realities on the ground in the country.

The political expert said the Syrian crisis risks to widen if armed groups fail to withdraw from the country.

He said the initiatives that are likely to be tabled during the Geneva2 talk are doomed as they fail to meet the Syrian people’s rights.
