IOF Major charged with indecent acts

An Israeli Army Major is being charged in Haifa's District Court of performing indecent act and sodomy on his son.

According to the charge, he performed the acts during a period of six years, since his son was ten.

The indictment claims the Major committed the acts in the base where he served, in his home, and in his vehicle.

There has been a dramatic rise in recent weeks in the number of child sexual-abuse cases being reported, especially from within the haredi community, according to the National Council for the Child.
