2012 Gaza war changed equations

An Iranian expert in Palestinian affairs says the victory of the Palestinian resistance in the eight-day Gaza warfare in 2012 showed how Palestinian are able to change their methods of confrontation against Israel.

Head of the Quds and Intifada Campaign in Islamic Propagation Council, Ramadan Sharif told Qudsna that the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime has undeniably taken a newer, more improved track under the auspices of the eight-day defense.

The expert said the regime realized during the warfare that the equation of military power in the region has seriously changed.

The senior activist said the regime resorts to political campaigns including the so-called ‘peace’ talks as it finds itself feeble in the military field. “The new generation of Palestinians has realized that armed resistance is the sole way to liberate the land,” he said.

The expert said the 2012 victory in repelling the Zionist forces from Gaza also helped promote the dignity of the Islamic umma. “The more the Palestinian combatants have gains in confronting the Zionist regime, the more they are supported by the Islamic community’s public opinion,” he added.
