Saudi, Israel behind Beirut bombings
An Iranian expert says evidence at hand point to Saudi Arabia and Zionist regime as prime suspects behind the recent Beirut terror bombings outside the Iranian embassy.
Hassan Hanizadeh told Qudsna that the Syrian army’s military gains in the field have prompted them and their supporters to resort to terror bombings in Lebanon.
“The terrorist groups hold that the Islamic Republic and the Lebanese Hezbollah have helped the army in the gains … the Saudi Arabia have provoked the groups to stage the attacks,” he said
The expert in regional affairs touched on the visit to Tel Aviv of the Saudi intelligence chief, Bandar bin Sultan, saying that the visit aimed at “making coordination for the transfer of crisis to Lebanon.”
Hanizadeh also maintained that the gains of Iran in nuclear talks with the west were also another issue to provoke the group to carry out the attack. “A likely deal between Iran and the west has infuriated Saudi and Israel,” he said, adding that the Beirut bombing was their reaction.
At least 25 people lost their lives in the twin terror bombings, including the Iranian cultural attaché, Ebrahim Ansari.
