UNGA resolutions fail to help Palestine

An Iranian expert in Palestinian affairs believes that the UNGA resolutions in support of the Palestinian people would not work until they are guaranteed to be put in place.

Secretary of the Committee in support of the Palestinian People’s Islamic Revolution, Alireza Soltanshahi told Qudsna that a recently-approved UNGA draft resolution too has no guarantee and similarly, there is no hope it would be implemented.

The expert said there is already a book-size collection of pro-Palestinian resolutions slamming the Zionist regime for violating the Palestinian rights or altering the ancient texture of the Palestinian land, however they have failed to affect the regime’s conduct.

The expert said the resolutions would only be effective once the Palestinians command a sovereign state. “Unless they are given their right to decide their fate, such resolutions would be useless,” he said.

The expert noted that whatever gains the Palestinian people have had since the occupation of their land were achieved through resistance and not UN resolutions.
