UN resolutions could not solve problems
A prominent Iranian pro-Palestinian activist says the non-binding UN resolution could not help resolve the Palestinian problems.
Secretary General of the Association in Support of the Freedom of Holy Quds, Mohammad-taqi Taqipour made the remarks in an interview with Qudsna when asked about the recently approved UNGA resolution in recognition of the Palestinian right to decide on its own fate.
The Iranian NGO’s secretary general said any move to help the nation to restore its rights of destiny was positive, especially through the international body, however the resolution risks violating the Palestinian rights as it also recognizes the existence of the occupying Zionist regime.
“The resolution indirectly recognizes the existence of Israel while giving the Palestinians their right to form a Palestinian state,” he said.
The prominent activist also criticized the resolution for stopping short of addressing the daily Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people and properties. “The resolution has only called on the illegal regime to keep its ‘legal’ obligations; even this call to remains non-binding,” he said.
The Iranian activist said such resolution act as a remedy to the Palestinian pains however they could not resolve a single problem facing the Palestinian people.
“The freedom of Palestine would only be possible through relying on the weapon of faith. Palestine has been usurped by force. It may only be liberated through resistance,” Taqipour said.
Records show that “whenever the Palestinians have shown armed steadfastness, they have made the Zionist regime to retreat. The reality has already been staged in the 22-day and 8-day wars,” the activist said, in reference to the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel during the Gaza wars in 2008 and 2012.
