Turkish elites keep anti-Israeli stance

Secretary General of Iran-based Forum on Islamic Unity, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki says Turkish Muslims and even a large part of its secular population continue to keep a serious anti-Israeli stance.

The Iranian authority made the remarks in a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday where he took questions on a second meeting of an Islamic Mediation Committee in Turkey.

The authority called sedition among Muslims as the deadliest ailing for the Muslim community worldwide, adding that Muslim elites were expected to promote the rhetoric of peace and reconciliation in their countries.

Asked about the unity promoting schemes in Turkey, the authority said Turkish elites are well aware of the threat posed by the Zionist regime and therefore they had given a hand to the Iranian emissaries of unity.

The authority added that Turkish Muslim intellectual and leader, Mr. Asil Turk was coordinating the unity efforts inside the country.

He and his colleagues were much helpful in making the committee efforts successful in Turkey.
