Photos: African refugees protest against Israeli policies

African refugees gather outside the central bus station in the city of Be'er Sheva, after marching from the new detention center 'Holot', close to the Israeli-Egyptian border, protesting the Israeli government's decision to jail them in a new facility, December 15, 2013.

480 refugees were sent on Friday from Saharonim prison to a new centre, in which there are allowed to go out during the day time.

The group stayed the night at the central bus station, and was provided with food and hot drink by local activists.

Rights groups petitioned against amended law allowing detention of migrants without trial, saying the Israeli government's circumvention of previous ruling has led to a worse conditions for African migrants.
