OIC primarily formed to support Palestine

Secretary General of the Islamic Cooperation Organization, Iyad Madani says the Muslim body was primarily established to support the Holy Quds and the innocent Palestinian nation.

The newly-appointed authority made the remarks in an interview with Qudsna during a visit to Tehran.

The IOC head urged the member states to step up support for the Palestinian nation within the framework of the body.

The official also said the sole way to contain the current religious and sectarian differences and bloodshed was to boost ties among Muslim states.

The interview came on the sidelines of a luncheon party held by Palestinian ambassador to Tehran, Salah Zavavi in the presence of ambassadors of Muslim countries in Tehran.
