IRI's heavy costs in defending Palestine

A member of the Hamas movement in the Palestinian Legislative Council, Riadh al-Ashqar says the Islamic Republic has paid heavy costs in defending the key issues of the world of Islam, especially the Palestinian issue.
Al-Ashqar was speaking to Qudsna, on the sidelines of an Islamic Inter-parliamentary Union assembly in Tehran when asked about Iran’s move to shut down the Israeli embassy in Tehran in 1979.

The Palestinian lawmaker said the Islamic Revolution has played a key role in supporting the wronged world nations, especially the Palestinian nation.
The Hamas official said it was expected from the Islamic Republic to take down the Israeli flag and to hoist the flag of Palestine. The lawmaker expressed hope other Islamic countries would follow the suit.
The lawmaker also said the Palestinian nation took many lessons from Islamic revolution of Iran in its struggle against the Zionist regime.
The lawmaker said the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini had got a precise knowledge of the Palestinian issue and kept to support the innocent Palestinian nation unlike the pressures of the western powers.
