Sabri: Al-Aqsa is a red line

Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the Imam of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied al-Quds ('Jerusalem'), warned Israel on Friday against harming the mosque.

“We will not give up even one grain of Al-Aqsa, since the Jews have no connection to it,” declares head of the Supreme Muslim Council.

Sabri issued the warning in an interciew with a Gaza-based news agency.

“We will not give up even one grain of earth (at the Al-Aqsa Mosque), since the Jews have no connection to it whatsoever,” he said.

“Al-Quds is a deposit for the Muslims, and the issue of Al-Aqsa is similar to that of the mosque in Mecca and the Mosque of the Messenger (Muhammad) in Medina, and it is not only in the hands of the inhabitants of Palestine, but in the hands of all Arabs and Muslims,” he added.

Sabri warned that the daily break-ins by the Jewish settlers into the mosque place it in a dangerous and uncertain position and provokes the feelings of two billion Muslims worldwide.
